Trying to use a Mac running OS-X Mavericks on a 27-inch monitor with a keyboard and mouse, and unfortunately right now the game is unplayable. Here’s why (I have no idea whether this applies to everyone or whether this is just some kind of bug on my end):
– “Multiplayer”, “Settings”, “Credits” and “Quit” options are not selectable at the start. You can hover the mouse over them so that the option is white, but clicking any mouse button or pressing anything on the keyboard does nothing. “Multiplayer” I expected because it hasn’t been added yet, but “settings” I would think would work, at least to the extent of giving mouse control options?
– The “Escape” key does nothing, in or out of gameplay. Does not give you the option to quit the game, etc – in fact the only way I can quit right now is by using cmd-alt-esc to bring up the Apple “force quit” menu.
– “Tab” during gameplay does take me to a mouse-driven 3D menu, so that works ok. However pressing “space / tab” from this menu does nothing – doesn’t take me back into the game at all – and “E” does nothing either. The only option to exit back to the main menu is “X”.
Most importantly, without “settings” I can’t invert the Y-Axis on the mouse (which is pretty much essential for me) and I can’t change the mouse sensitivity (which is by default set way way way too high – slightly shifting the mouse completely changes the direction my character is facing). These two things together mean it’s effectively impossible to control my in-game movement (it’s almost impossible to even control the viewpoint inside the car at the start!)
I haven’t had the game crash or give me framerate drops; and as far as the graphics and sound go, everything seems to be fine (from the little I’ve been able to see of it). Am I just coming up against stuff that needs to be added later on, or have I caught a bug?
